Drive south to Amboseli as Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak emerges from the clouds. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive — elephant herds in the foreground, Africa's highest mountain behind them. One of the most iconic views on earth.
Amboseli's vast elephant herds are the most photographed in Africa — family groups of 50+ bulls move across the plain with Kilimanjaro as their backdrop. A full day with a Maasai cultural visit in the morning and a sunset drive to Observation Hill.
Long drive northwest to the Mara — through Maasai country and the Loita Hills. Arrive late afternoon for a welcome game drive. Candlelit dinner in your suite overlooking the plains.
A full day deep in the Mara — lion prides, cheetah families and leopards along the Talek River. Bush picnic at midday. Sundowner on the plains.
Pre-dawn balloon safari — an hour adrift over the Mara as Africa wakes below you. Champagne bush breakfast on landing. Afternoon at leisure in the lodge — couples massage, plunge pool or simply watching the wildlife from your deck.
Morning at the lodge before flying from the Mara airstrip to Nairobi and connecting to Zanzibar. Arrive Zanzibar mid-afternoon. Transfer to your beachfront hotel on Nungwi — first swim in the Indian Ocean, first coconut in hand.
Full day in UNESCO Stone Town — carved doors, the slave memorial, the Darajani market and a private spice farm tour. Evening rooftop dinner as the call to prayer rises from the mosques below.
Morning snorkelling on Mnemba Atoll — sea turtles, dolphins and spectacular coral. Return for a beach lunch. Late afternoon private dhow sunset cruise — champagne and the Indian Ocean turning gold.
A full free day — sleep late, swim in the turquoise lagoon, couples spa massage. Evening: private Swahili seafood dinner on the beach — candles, the sound of the ocean and just the two of you.
Your last full day in paradise. Take a local dala-dala to the east coast beach at Paje — famous for its kite surfing and shallow turquoise lagoon. Or simply stay at the hotel and watch the dhows sail past all day. Farewell dinner at the hotel restaurant.
