Drive northwest to the Volcanoes — past tea plantations and traditional villages.
The day that changes everything. Trek through the Virunga bamboo forest to spend one hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek takes 2–6 hours depending on the gorillas' location — a ranger-guided adventure through extraordinary rainforest.
This morning track the endangered golden monkey — endemic to the Virunga volcanoes and extraordinarily beautiful. Afternoon free. Drive to Kigali for onward flight.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon game drive in search of the famous Ishasha tree-climbing lions.
