Overview

The Lemosho Route is widely considered the most scenic and most rewarding route up Kilimanjaro — and at 8 days, it offers the best acclimatisation profile of any route on the mountain, resulting in the highest summit success rates of approximately 90%.

The route begins on the remote western face of the mountain, entering through pristine rainforest rarely visited by other trekking groups. It traverses the full width of the Shira Plateau, offering extraordinary views, before joining the Southern Circuit and approaching the summit via the Barafu Camp. The 8-day duration allows your body to adjust gradually to altitude — critical for success and safety above 5,000m.
