Morning light aircraft flight deep into the Okavango to Chief's Island — the largest island in the delta and home to extraordinary lion, leopard, elephant and wild dog populations. Check in to your water-facing suite. Afternoon mokoro canoe glide through the lily channels — hippos surface alongside you, fish eagles call overhead.
Dawn walking safari — your guide reads tracks, identifies droppings and leads you silently through lion country on foot. The intimacy and focus of a walking safari is unlike any vehicle experience. Return for breakfast. Afternoon game drive. After dinner: a night drive by spotlight revealing the nocturnal world of the delta.
A full day alternating between the delta's two faces. Morning mokoro — glide through narrow papyrus channels, land on a remote island for a bush picnic. Afternoon game drive focusing on elephant herds and predator tracking. Romantic dinner set up privately beside the water as elephants drink at the nearby channel.
Light aircraft to Moremi Game Reserve — wild dog packs are tracked by radio collar, leopards are extraordinarily habituated, and lion are frequently seen resting in the floodplain trees. A very different ecosystem from Chief's Island — wilder and wetter, with vast buffalo herds and extraordinary bird life.
A full day in Moremi — morning wild dog tracking by radio collar (one of Africa's most thrilling wildlife encounters), afternoon lion and leopard drive. Bush breakfast in the field beneath a leadwood tree. Private romantic dinner in the bush set up by camp staff as fireflies illuminate the darkness.
A final dawn mokoro glide — the delta at its most peaceful and magical in the early morning silence. Light aircraft back to Maun. Transfer to a lodge for a farewell lunch on the Thamalakane River. Evening flight to Johannesburg or onward connection.
